Nitrous Oxide
What it is: Nitrous oxide and oxygen are inhaled through a nasal mask and adjusted during treatment while the patient remains awake and responsive.
When considered: It may help selected patients with mild-to-moderate anxiety or difficulty tolerating care.
What to expect: We begin with an examination and appropriate records, explain the findings, and tailor the sequence to the tooth, tissues, bite, health and goals.
Limits and next step: Suitability, timing and outcome depend on the clinical findings. Alternatives, maintenance and referral needs are reviewed before treatment.
